I believe this bug report may be related to the upstream bug https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=728717
In the bugzilla report the crash occurs in the same place in the code as this bug HOWEVER the crash is seen when closing the application instead of when running a report. At least one Debian user and some Ubuntu users (via the GetDeb repository) report seeing the crash occur when closing GnuCash versions 2.6.1, 2.6.2, and 2.6.3. The crash exhibits itself in conjunction with the Debian package python-gnucash and for various reasons is not visible when running the upstream code. A workaround for the bug in Debian / Ubuntu etc. is to remove the file /usr/share/gnucash/python/init.py As shown in bugzilla, GnuCash developers committed a fix to the code but it won't be visible until the release after version 2.6.3.
