Hi

Actually the special casing of the linker flags with -Wl,--no-relax is
no longer needed on Alpha. The linker was fixed maybe a month ago and
relaxation is now working fine on large C/C++ programs.

I was just about to downgrade this bug to minor and retitle it to
suggest removing the alpha special casing when I see it is now marked
pending. I am also wondering whether the addition of the "-mieee'
compiler flag (that is currently in debian/rules for Alpha) is
strictly necessary as the Debian gcc should default to -mieee switched
on when run on Alpha, but I have not had a chance to run a test build
of that.

Cheers
Michael.
