Hi Jakub. Sorry for the delay in responding. I had prepared the latest version of this package which would close the two other bugs, but never managed to find a sponsor on mentors.debian.org for upload. My original sponsor has gone off the radar.
I no longer have an iPhone to test on, but think it is worth mentioning that the ipheth-pair utility is somewhat obsolete in a desktop environment. I know that it gets called by udev, and this is mainly to satisfy a non-desktop installation - say minimal + ipheth-utils. In a desktop environment, Nautilus / GVFS will also perform pairing on first connection. Thereafter, it is no longer needed. There were issues in the past with the pairing failing if your phone has a screen lock code, but I am not sure if this is still the case. If I recall correctly, it was necessary to disable the lock code on first pairing, then to set it again after the phone has paired. Regards, Paul.
