Package: postfix
Version: 2.11.0-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

While debugging a different bug with cloning VMs I stumpled upon this
bug. Just modify the PID in /var/spool/postfix/pid/master.pid while
postfix is still running and then shut it down by calling
/etc/init.d/postfix stop:

root@mac ~ # /etc/init.d/postfix stop
[ ok ] Stopping Postfix Mail Transport Agent: postfix.

The init script returns the string [ ok ] and the exit code is zero.
But the postfix process is still running because it can not be
shutdown with the wrong PID information. I expected this behaviour but
I expected the init script to show the error, especially in the exit
code. I think the problem is caused bu the function running() in the
init script because it returns no value if the PID does not exist.

greets Jimmy
