Hey, Here is some additional information: The output property of the xrandr utility used by the Gnome control center saves the backlight brigthness values in /sys/devices/platform/samsung/backlight/samsung/ within a range from 0 to 8 whereas the graphics driver accesses the values saved in /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/drm/card0-LVDS-1/intel-backlight/.
