Then it may be best to just skip that patch, and continue with the rest, which is packaging only. You can later just import the new upstream release yourself. I'd be happy to co-maintain the package. Can you upload the packaging git repository inside collab-maint, and I'll work it out from there (eg: merge my patches)?
