Hi Erwan,

Thanks for this patch. Is it possible to login to a ppc64el machine?
Why does ppc64el need the dependencies of NetCDF explicitly, rather than
having them pulled in automatically?

I'd rather not pull in so many dependencies, especially on things like
gnutls,
if I can avoid it.  These are being pulled in because curl is being
used, creating
quite long and fragile dependency chains.
