Package: ibus Version: 1.5.5-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
I have filed a bug in the past. I was running sid then, but it was finnicky. I have known reinstalled my computer, from the debian-DVD-testing image downloaded 2014 May 25. I then did a full-upgrade to sid. I have done this many times before. I know how to dist-upgrade/full-upgrade. I have installed gobject-introspection, ibus, ibus-m17n (I want to use Chinese - m17n:zh:pinyin). In that order. I have hard rebooted several times and re-installed and removed packages many times over. I cannot get the ibus to work. I have tried ibus-setup, but I cannot type in Chinese. If I did, it was erratic; I was unable to turn off ibus, and nothing showed up in the gnome-panel (no icon). ibus is not consistent (or is mostly consistent at doing nothing). I am running the latest gnome. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.14-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages ibus depends on: ii dconf-cli 0.20.0-2 ii dconf-gsettings-backend [gsettings-backend] 0.20.0-2 ii gir1.2-gtk-3.0 3.12.2-1 ii gir1.2-ibus-1.0 1.5.5-1 ii gnome-icon-theme 3.12.0-1 ii libatk1.0-0 2.12.0-1 ii libc6 2.18-7 ii libcairo2 1.12.16-2 ii libdconf1 0.20.0-2 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.30.7-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.40.0-3 ii libgtk-3-0 3.12.2-1 ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.23-1 ii libibus-1.0-5 1.5.5-1 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.36.3-1 ii librsvg2-common 2.40.2-1 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.2-2 ii libxi6 2:1.7.2-1 ii python-gi 3.12.1-1 ii python-notify 0.1.1-3 pn python:any <none> Versions of packages ibus recommends: ii ibus-gtk 1.5.5-1 ii ibus-gtk3 1.5.5-1 ii im-config 0.26-2 Versions of packages ibus suggests: pn ibus-clutter <none> pn ibus-doc <none> pn ibus-qt4 <none> -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
