Aha, it looks like the problem is happening here in
fat32::set_used_sectors.  Do you have a fat32 partition on this disk?
 Can you run dosfsck -n -v on it?  Or fsck.fat if you have that.  Also
can you show the output of 'set | grep LC_'?
