as discussed in the burg report there is not proper hal replacement at all as even gudev doesn't provide as much information as hal does, and there is no replacement at all on !linux platforms. So either you provide a properly working replacement on !linux or you convince me that spacewalk support for !linux should be removed. But just your wish to remove hal doensn't make this bug serious, escpecially not of there is no replacement for it.
