Hello, It seems that this bug is fixed. A few days ago, I removed .cache/background and it replaced my background with a black screen, so I thought it was not fixed.
But now that I have set a new background image, there is nothing in .cache/background anymore. In fact, the background image is copied in $XDG_PICTURES_DIR/Wallpapers so I consider this is fixed. It only misses a migration from the old way of storing the background in ~/.cache.
