I came across another failure recently ultimately traceable to #643560
and hence to #583958.  I'm afraid that reading the bug log for #583958
leaves me rather confused about what the current situation is.  AIUI
the fix for #643560 depends on #583958.  And the latter wants to go
upstream first.

Steve, you say "Yes - will push upstream prior to applying in Debian".
Has that happened or do you need help with it ?

I'm no expert in PAM and I don't really know where the upstream
bugtracker is, so if you need help with this any hints would be
helpful.  I guess the patch from Martin in #34 (Fri, 24 Jun 2011
10:34:41 +0200) is right ?  (I haven't tried it and I guess it would
need some rebasing.)
