What do you think of passing this > page to man-pages? Does it make sense? I don't mind if the man page is added to the manpages package under any license you like, but do note that /etc/hostname is a Debianism, which we added to systemd and thus is now supported by the union of Debian-derived distributions and those which adopted systemd. I am not sure what the rules regarding what belongs in the manpages package is, but I have the suspicion that at least Slackware and Gentoo don't have this file. Also, in the systemd context the man page refers to "hostnamectl(1)" which doesn't exist outside of systemd, and we make stricter recommendations on the hostname to store in /etc/hostname than debian probably traditionally made. How does the Debian version of the man page look like? Is it available online? How would the version you'd add to the manpages package look like? The systemd version you find here: http://www.freedesktop.org/software/systemd/man/hostname.html Lennart -- Lennart Poettering, Red Hat -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
