Upgraded from Wheezy to Jessie.   Sipe 1.17.0-1  fails to return any message on
connection failure
upgraded to Sipe 1.18.1-1 and get the referenced error.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

Tried the next release from the Sid repository

Have complete backups of my pidgin/pidgin-sipe configurations
   * What was the outcome of this action?

Got the aforementioned error message

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

Was hoping I could successfully connect to the remote  Microsoft Communication
Server
