Hi. I have something more to say about this issue.
Firstly, I updated the bug report at freedesktop. Seems that they had a server
misconiguration that was resolved later on.

Secondly, I managed to install the said extensions on Libreoffice 4.2
(downloaded from libreoffice.org) and also on the Libreoffice version provided
in Debian 7, but only on one of the 2 computers I tested on. Both were running
Debian 7. On the other pc there was no way to install these extensions in the
same version of Libreoffice, not even on Apache Openoffice 4.0.1 (the one it is
intended for).

The error I got was the same for both Openoffice and Libreoffice (with the
folder names adjusted accordingly):

loading component library failed:
file:///home/user/.openoffice/4/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/sv8a2229.tmp_/aoo-my-sdbc-1.2.0-linux-x86-64.oxt/Linux_x86_64/aoo-my-sdbc.uno.so

So I don't think this error message stems from differences between LO and AOO,
but from something else, since I can install the extension in LO in one of the
two computers without errors.
