The current solution for bug #639761 to build gimp --without-webkit has an unfortunate side effect: The web-pages plug-in to take screenshots of web pages from within gimp is not build and shipped anymore. Thats because the plug-in also uses webkit to do its deed. The patch[1] I proposed in bug #639761 would not have such side effects: If a user installs all dependencies, all plug-ins do work as expected. If the user decides not to install webkit dependencies the affected plug-ins won't hurt normal gimp operation. Please drop the --without-webkit compile flag again and consider adopting the patch.
