Umm, yeah. I get that. I don't argue that it's necessary that it's purged. The point is that it is _not_ purged, but when you try to run "apt-get remove --purge hotplug" nothing happens because hotplug was necessarily removed in order to even install udev (because this version conflicts with hotplug) and get the message to purge hotplug.
