Was working to build a new debian package and determine the package dependencies with: dpkg-depcheck -d ./configure it failed to properly detect the package that provides files that were referenced with paths with ../../'s in them. Adding a line to convert the file path to an abs_path() after confirming the file exists resolves the problem.
