I've experienced this bug too on two systems running Debian Wheezy. For both the logging occurs in the background and fills up the entire hardisk without the user knowing, causing Debian to run slowly and some processes fail to start. Uninstalling the package was the solution, but please consider fixing this through a security update or proposed updates. I know its easy to set the config file to 0 or uninstall the package, but users who do not know about the bug will have a hard time.
