Hi,

I am facing a similar problem with Wheezy :
  - print from LibreOffice from backports
  - gs process uses 100% CPU
- takes long time to finish the gs process (approximately 10 minutes for 47 pages without pictures, with AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+) - when finally the pages are sent to the printer, the first page printed contains two lines of strange things, and then the printer prints blank pages endlessly.

I faced this with two printers : Epson EPL-N3000 and Epson EPL-N6200, both connected by USB. This did not seem to happen with small documents (one or two pages).

I then tried to share the EPL-N3000 via LPD on our 2003 server : the problem disappeared (gs runs approximately for 10 seconds for the same 47 pages document).

I have 12 other computers (same models, same softwares, connected to another EPL-N3000 via LPD on another 2003 server), and this problem never happenned, at least as I know.

It might be related to USB...
If you need more informations, please email me.

Thanks for your time and work,
Yvan Masson
