You are right.  I guess the main reason for ignoring the option to
inform you straight after detecting the bug is that usually upstream
does not care a lot for exotic architectures and the bad experience of
beeing ignored has trained the people to develop a patch first.  Thanks
for providing a good counter-example and also care for these niche
cases.
