I don't think it is necessary, for several reasons. We added ubuntu because in there, qemu was different from debian, so now ubuntu has a different set of packages and conflicts/breaks, and that difference makes it very difficult to maintain as a change. In your case, the package should be the same as on debian, so there's no need to make a separate case for it. Just set the distribution field to the default "debian" and it will work fine as is, unless you want to divirge far from debian. In the latter case, it might be better idea to actually maintain it as a patch on your side locally, together with all the other changes.
