I can't blame him. In my opinion, applications would be user friendly if they had more consistency about these kinds of things. >From what I read above it seems that liferea will continue displaying date/time based on language/locale settings. So marking as wontfix seems appropriate. I'd assume that now with GTK3 there would be a way to specify custom date/time formatting and have it applied across all GTK3 applications.
