Hi,

please CC me, I'm not subscribed to this bug report.

I personally try to convince people that there is merit in adding
support for menu and desktop files even for console based games (at
least for those that use ncurses or the like). Since this question came
up a few times I added it to the FAQ

https://wiki.debian.org/Games/JessieReleaseGoal#Frequently_Asked_Questions

So adding a desktop file for the text version is a good idea IMO. Bonus
points if the icon for that differs from the tiles version. Sure, some
users will just use the terminal to start the game. However by providing
a graphical method and a nice icon, the game gets a lot more focus in
DEs like Gnome3 where you have Gnome Shell and big icons for everything.
With one of the next versions it is much easier to group icons, so why
shouldn't it be possible for users to group their favorite console games
in Gnome Shell...they just need the corresponding desktop file / icon.

Well, it's up to you guys. At least an icon for the menu file would be nice.

Cheers,

Markus
