Package: twinkle
Version: 1:1.4.2-4
Followup-For: Bug #737895

I think I see the same issue. Never used twinkle before, just installed.
No GUI shows up. Strace reveals just what's listed below, no reading
from STDIN. Passing command line from the manpage does not work either,
it report read errors from a file named after the specified option. Very
confusing.

fcntl(11, F_SETLK, {type=F_UNLCK, whence=SEEK_SET, start=139869547931755,
len=8452160}) = 0
close(11)                               = 0
