Package: bluez Version: 4.101-4.1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
The bluetooth device does not work on my laptop (Dell latitue 3440). I newly installed Debian stable, then upgraded to testing branch. I installed blueman as the bluetooth manager. When I click "setup new device", it shows error: "no adapters found". When I tried to restart bluetooth service using command "service bluetooth restart" Syslog shows: bluetoothd[6558]: Bluetooth daemon 4.101 bluetoothd[6558]: Starting SDP server bluetoothd[6558]: DIS cannot start: GATT is disabled bluetoothd[6558]: Failed to init deviceinfo plugin bluetoothd[6558]: Failed to init proximity plugin bluetoothd[6558]: Failed to init time plugin bluetoothd[6558]: Failed to init alert plugin bluetoothd[6558]: Failed to init thermometer plugin bluetoothd[6558]: Failed to init gatt_example plugin bluetoothd[6558]: Bluetooth Management interface initialized dbus[2270]: [system] Activating service name='org.blueman.Mechanism' (using servicehelper) blueman-mechanism: Starting blueman-mechanism dbus[2270]: [system] Successfully activated service 'org.blueman.Mechanism' blueman-mechanism: loading Network blueman-mechanism: loading RfKill blueman-mechanism: loading Ppp blueman-mechanism: loading Config This might relate to bug #724735 which was closed. The syslog message is quite similiar to my syslog message. The bug reporter saying that he got this problem when upgraded to bluez 4.101-3. Bluetooth works when he downgraded bluez to 4.101-2+b1. I tried to boot into a ubuntu 13.10 live CD environment (had it around), the bluetooth device works perfectly. The bluez version is 4.101-0. The bug should have been fixed in bluez 4.101-4, but it's still happeing to me. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-updates'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.13-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_IE.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_IE.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages bluez depends on: ii dbus 1.8.0-2 ii init-system-helpers 1.18 ii kmod 16-2 ii libc6 2.18-4 ii libdbus-1-3 1.8.0-2 ii libglib2.0-0 2.38.2-5 ii libreadline6 6.2+dfsg-0.1 ii libudev1 204-7 ii libusb-0.1-4 2:0.1.12-23.3 ii lsb-base 4.1+Debian12 ii python-dbus 1.2.0-2+b2 ii python-gi 3.10.2-2+b1 ii udev 204-7 bluez recommends no packages. bluez suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
