The host I’m trying to talk to uses 403 (Forbidden) when there is no client certificate provided.
I’d consider accepting 401 (Unauthorized), 403, 407 (Proxy Authentication Required). (Or I’d consider accepting 4* as it’s a bit of a hack for the RC anyway).
