This is a great and useful plugin. Despite my early reservations, I've come to like the "Auto" top speed setting, but I wish I could still judge how much absolute bandwidth is in use, at least approximately. What if the bars were to change color/brightness/saturation/width or some other attribute(s) depending on what the current "real" top speed is at the top of the bars? That would add an additional dimension (literally) to the data displayed, without any additional clutter. For example, I could set network monitor to show red bars when the line speed is high, and blue bars when it's not. If I see the graph towards the middle of its range, and the bars are a perfect magenta, I know that I'm near 50% of my normal top speed. If the bars are just as high, but baby blue, I know that it's just fractional, background use. Or maybe the bars are 2px thick at the low end of speeds, and 10px thick at the faster end. To do it right, I suppose you'd still have a specified line maximum setting /with/ "auto," so that it knows where the "edge" of this color variation/thickness variation/whatever lies - or maybe it could just use the highest recorded values (or highest in the last 72 hrs?) as an "automatic" line max.
