Package: dput-ng
Version: 1.7
Severity: wishlist

I executed:

  % dcut dm --uid 0x$key --allow $packages

for a key that just went into debian-keyring today (so it's not part
of my local DM keyring yet). The resulting error message was:

| Uploading commands file to ftp.upload.debian.org (incoming: /pub/UploadQueue/)
| DM fingerprint lookup for argument 0x$key failed. GnuPG returned error: gpg:
error reading key: public key not found

Even though the man page already mentions it, it wasn't obvious
enough for me (especially because I was tricked into believing that
the remote system was the one that was complaining since my local
gpg installation *is* aware of the according key :)). Would be great
if the error message could clarify this. Filing this as wishlist bug
report as discussed on IRC with Paul.

Thanks! :)

regards,
