Dear Markus Kuhn,

I'm in the process of packaging PerlIO::utf8_strict for Debian. The
module includes in its CPAN distribution a 2010 copy of the file
quickbrown.txt, very similar to the one you make available at
http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~mgk25/ucs/examples/quickbrown.txt. This file
contains your name at the top and a mention that the copyright for the
Thai example is owned by the Computer Association of Thailand, but I was
unable to find any license information either in that file or its
vicinity.

Copyright/license information is needed in order for Debian (and others)
to be able to legally distribute your text, which is used as input for a
Unit test and will thus become part of a source code package. As-is, I
cannot be sure that you agree to this kind of use, and which conditions
(e.g. attribution) might apply. A website recently set up to make
choosing a license easier is http://choosealicense.com/

Could you please give us (e.g. by simply replying to this email, but
adding a note to your website would surely be useful to others) the
license information under which you're making quickbrown.txt available?

Hoping to hear from you,
Florian
