i have a thinkpad T500 with an SSD as the main drive, and a 2nd HDD in
the drive bay
otherwise completely standard with just 1 x 6 cell battery
this only started happening after an update a week ago or so

Weird. Are you 100% sure it's an xfpm icon? It looks like it's detecting
a second battery or something, I'm unsure which kind of icon it is.
