Ian Beckwith is in the process of renaming his git binary, but not the git package. This will let "our" git install along with GNU Interactive Tools, with no changes. Ian is going to install a /usr/bin/git script for a while, which just reminds his users of the name change. At some point in the future, he will remove this script, and then the coast is clear for us to install our git. For now we still need to rename our git to something else.
