The new git-buildpackage introduce a bug that was not existing in 0.6.8. I think this is a regression of this bug. With the new git-buildpackage the section [git-import-dsc] in debian/gbp.conf gets ignored. I just wondered recently why the h... git-import-dsc was creating a tag "security/..." instead of "debian/..." as configured in debian/gbp.conf.
