Package: grml-debootstrap Version: 0.59 Severity: wishlist Tags: upstream Dear Maintainer,
I tried to install a debian chroot by running "fakeroot grml-debootstrap -i mnt -t target" when I had an empty directory at "target" and a debian installer iso mounted at "mnt" (mounted using fuseiso). After several warnings about being unable to create a cache directory, the program errors out with the following: * Mounting Debian image loopback to test2/mnt. ERROR: ld.so: object 'libfakeroot-sysv.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored. mount: only root can do that -> Failed (rc=1) If I try to install with fakeroot but without specifying an iso, the install gets farther. It seems like it should be possible to do at least some of the install without root privileges. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing-proposed-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-proposed-updates'), (500, 'testing'), (50, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.12-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages grml-debootstrap depends on: ii debian-archive-keyring 2012.4 ii debootstrap 1.0.56 ii gawk 1:4.0.1+dfsg-2.1 Versions of packages grml-debootstrap recommends: ii dialog 1.2-20130928-1 ii kpartx 0.4.9+git0.9c3c5172-1 ii mksh 49-2 ii parted 2.3-16 ii qemu-utils 1.7.0+dfsg-3 grml-debootstrap suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
