That's probably because almost nobody uses the software volume control provided by xmms's alsa plugin. Alsa implements some software volume control by itself, which means that the software volume control provided by xmms's alsa plugin is useless. But although it is useless, I still think it is broken. > and this bug is more than 1 year old, This bugs has been ignored by the alsa maintainer for 1 year. Do you consider that bug automagically vanish when ignored long enough? I wish this were true... > we're closing. Please don't. If you don't want to fix a bug, you can tag it wontfix, but don't pretend that a bug is fixed when it really is not. And also please note that I proposed to update the patch I sent when submitting the bug report. > Thank you very much for your interest, You're welcome.
