Bug#719553: gnome-terminal's --working-directory option does not accept paths that use ~ as reference to the home directory

using gnome-terminal-3.10.1-1 has the same behaviour.

$ gnome-terminal --working-directory=~/test

it fails the mentioned directory because of ~.
