This version of dvdauthor needs to have explicitly set a default video format in order to be useful. Options include environment variable, user config files or system config file. The file /etc/video_format is the system wide config file and should contain one line: "PAL" or "NTSC", as # cat /etc/video_format PAL The value could be set via debconf (just as e.g. default paper format in /etc/papersize) Thank you for considering it.
