Package: xfce4 Version: 4.10.1 Severity: normal In xfce4-power-manager, I have the system configured to suspend when the laptop lid is closed, or when the power button is pressed.
When booted with systemd, closing the lid causes the system to suspend. Opening the lid then causes it to resume, followed immediately by it suspending again. I can then press the power button to resume. If I press the power button while the system is running, it does a hard shutdown with no prompting about eg, data loss (bug priority may be too low..). FWIW, ck-list-sessions does list a login session. I am using xfce, with lightdm or gdm3 (doesn't matter), and systemd. Basically, the standard Debian jessie desktop confguration, except that my window manager is xmonad (started by xfce4-session-manager and unlikely to be relevant). Per #717661, the solution to this seems to be for some long-running process (such as xfce itself) using systemd-inhibit. I find I need to pass --what=handle-lid-switch:handle-power-key -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.10-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages xfce4 depends on: ii gtk2-engines-xfce 3.0.1-2 ii libxfce4ui-utils 4.10.0-5 ii orage 4.10.0-1 ii thunar 1.6.3-1 ii xfce4-appfinder 4.10.1-1 ii xfce4-mixer 4.10.0-2 ii xfce4-panel 4.10.1-1 ii xfce4-session 4.10.1-5 ii xfce4-settings 4.10.1-2 ii xfconf 4.10.0-2 ii xfdesktop4 4.10.2-3 ii xfwm4 4.10.1-2 Versions of packages xfce4 recommends: ii desktop-base 7.0.3 ii tango-icon-theme 0.8.90-5 ii thunar-volman 0.8.0-4 ii xfce4-notifyd 0.2.4-2 ii xorg 1:7.7+5 Versions of packages xfce4 suggests: pn gtk3-engines-xfce <none> ii xfce4-goodies 4.10 ii xfce4-power-manager 1.2.0-3 -- no debconf information -- see shy jo
