As it's been a while, I haven't had access to such a system/display configuration recently, so I am not able to test against latest packages. The one I was experiencing this bug with is still running 800x600, but out of my (physical) reach, a.t.m.
If you feel like I was the only one to experience such a behaviour, feel free to close that bus report. If I once get back to the system and the problem still exists I would report back and kindly ask to re-open it.
