Of course.  How did I miss that?  Doh!

OK, you may close this bug report at your leisure.  Despite the fact that
/proc/cpuid reports only 2 cores instead of 4, it appears that all four
CPUs do get their microcode updated.  A kernel message something like
"skipping microcode upgrade for CPU #1: already up to date" would be nice,
but the lack of such a message is not, strictly speaking, a bug.
