While a number of web app maintainers in Debian seem to choose to do that, it's explicitly discouraged by the Debian Policy, see section 4.13 (http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-source.html#s-embeddedfiles) So this is actually a bug in galette (especially so once jquery-cookie 1.4.0 makes it in the archive). > But then maybe there is a law that Debian binary package numbers > can never go downwards... Well, in this case, the package manager is the law, because it has to decide wether a package is an upgrade or a downgrande over another version of the same package. The version number is depended on for this. - -- Jerome -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1 Comment: Using GnuPG with Icedove - http://www.enigmail.net/ iQEcBAEBCAAGBQJS6+r/AAoJEK/ZGpI6kvtMbCsH/A+mcqZhrS8wsmYu3APfdL6/ q7FRzgJ4EoLDkcF5dz1HTfNTXn2Yb21d3i+y1hJc8Dvs2TRia71J+3Sqv1NW3MJm E1q/1CvKCW6QICCK0zmig66h4vUP1IDs/wUKhA/wYadSqDwpFCidT/Ka1h5Gq4q4 dvn6VIFKKDVVAPzu2Fv1PKCnSvFWi4aPKsXJhRnW4W477yVO3dAORzPzx6HaT9j7 BLmEBlEO4iFDLyBvvEnqGce/ZmvJEYh/ScUJh1x/oSft2Z5ZA71MUFI0ZkIIUpv/ NBsCb139XciP3Kmmp1rg4BZkQK6wIFmVc9n59gHK5kTOoV4Mqwuj1s9HNoxJ88M= =L8CB -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
