Package: libcpre3 Version: libpcre3 Severity: critical Justification: breaks the whole system
My /usr treeis on a different disc partition than the boot partition / So when grep is trying to run to start and set up the system it cannot find libpcre.so.3 so most of the system fails. I was able to log on via the console, manually mount the file systems, then copy the file to /lib. That enabled me to normally reboot the system with everything started up as set up. I was able to find the same error on Adamantix http://www.trusteddebian.org/wiki/IssueNo0225GrepRequiresLibpcreSo3HoweverLibpcre3InstalledIntoUsrLibNotIntoLib -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i586) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.10 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
