retitle 338306 openafs-modules-source: cannot override CC thanks Picking the right compiler to use based on what the kernel was built with when the kernel wasn't built with the system compiler is probably something module-assistant or make-kpkg should be responsible for, but fixing the OpenAFS package so that overriding CC works is something that is probably doable.
It's really annoying for all module builds when the kernel isn't built with the system compiler, but I realize that it does happen from time to time. (For some reason, your original bug report never seemed to come out of the BTS via e-mail, at least for me.
