some PDF files take forever to load in evince, but work fine with xpdf. One example of such a file can be found at: ftp://ftp.aw.com/cseng/authors/papadimitriou/complex/errata.pdf I'm not sure whether this is a problem with evince itself or one of its libraries. So please reassign this bug as appropriate.
