Control: severity -1 wishlist Hi,
As Daniel Burrows said, this behaviour is not simple to change, and it gets worse as package lists grow over time. Or maybe it will improve over time with larger CPU caches and faster memories, but still. I never noticed this as a problem in desktops or servers, even on old pieces of hardware, but it might happen that with some architectures they struggle. I also think as Daniel that it's very unlikely to be fixed soon, since the implementation to improve this needs a combination of techniques which is not trivial, and there are usually more serious or much more trivial to solve bugs and hitting many people. And also there's a workaround to avoid this situation. I think that that this will only be fixed, if ever does, as part of a large redesign and rewrite of the mentioned parts, UI and search. I will leave it in the wishlist for the time being. Cheers. -- Manuel A.
