Package: udev
Version: 0.074-2

Earlier, when using udev and hotplug, my wireless network worked without
trouble after following the instructions in /usr/share/doc/ipw2100-mo...
But now it's completely non-working.

I've tried copying the firmware to /lib/firmware as indicated in another
bug, but without success. I've also tried upgrading the kernel to
2.6.14, which has the drivers in the kernel instead of external module
packages. But this is what I get in my dmesg.

ipw2100: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2100 Network Driver, 1.1.0
ipw2100: Copyright(c) 2003-2004 Intel Corporation
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:02:02.0[A] -> GSI 21 (level, low) -> IRQ 193
ipw2100: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 Network Connection
ipw2100: eth1: Firmware 'ipw2100-1.3.fw' not available or load failed.
ipw2100: eth1: ipw2100_get_firmware failed: -2
ipw2100: eth1: Failed to power on the adapter.
ipw2100: eth1: Failed to start the firmware.
ipw2100Error calling register_netdev.
ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:02:02.0 disabled
ipw2100: probe of 0000:02:02.0 failed with error -5

I'm not running unstable, but testing and I find it a bit strange to
have network and bluetooth dysfunctional all of a sudden just because
some italian dude finds debian to be his pet laboratory more than a
serious quality distribution.

(No I'm not expecting any help from the maintainer, but please prove me
wrong)
