Thank you for your investigative work in figuring out the source of your
problem.
According to RFC-3986, as weird as it may seem, feed:https://....  is in
fact the correct formatting for feed URIs through HTTPS.

Just to be clear, this isn't an iceweasel bug, it's a liferea bug.
