Shouldn't this be seen as reason to slow things down? Using a bureaucratic quality like "readiness" to make a technical decision seems like a contradiction. Anyway, why is there so much rush? jessie is going to default to sysvinit no matter what. Why not let the project evolve its own solution in the meantime? The TC could help that along more so by giving the project some guidelines to best avoid obstructing each others init system work.
