Package: util-linux Version: 2.20.1-5.3 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, *** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***
* What led up to the situation? * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? * What was the outcome of this action? * What outcome did you expect instead? *** End of the template - remove these lines *** Yesterday I upgraded to wheezy from squeeze - my system has several serial terminals connected to it - all of them are operating in 132 column mode. With the newer version of agetty supplied with wheezy they only show up as 80 column devices - as if its not reading or parsing the terminfo file supplied and invocation. I downgraded util-linux to the version supplied with squeeze, and this problem went away. Below are the lines used to invoke agetty in the inittab. T0:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty -L ttyR0 19200 vt102-w T1:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty -L ttyR1 19200 vt102-w T0:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty -L ttyR2 19200 vt102-w T0:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty -L ttyR3 19200 vt102-w I've been using this configuration for 2 years without any troubles - until the upgrade. -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.3 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages util-linux depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.49 ii dpkg 1.16.12 ii initscripts 2.88dsf-41+deb7u1 ii install-info 4.13a.dfsg.1-10 ii libblkid1 2.20.1-5.3 ii libc6 2.13-38 ii libncurses5 5.9-10 ii libselinux1 2.1.9-5 ii libslang2 2.2.4-15 ii libtinfo5 5.9-10 ii libuuid1 2.20.1-5.3 ii lsb-base 4.1+Debian8+deb7u1 ii tzdata 2013h-0wheezy1 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.7.dfsg-13 util-linux recommends no packages.
