Previously the "Advanced search" feature was available from the menus. But
in recent versions it is not. Nor is it available from the search bar (which
is obviously where it should be). Instead it is only available from the
account "page". This is very counter-intuitive; in fact it took me several
days to find the advanced search feature (during which I thought it was
removed).
I can only assume it was a mistake or accident that this feature was removed
from the menus.
I know nothing about an advanced search feature. I looked on the
account page (usually on the right, when selecting the account node in
the account/folder tree) and the search messages dialog looks the same
as the one in Edit -> Find -> Search Messages ....
Ouch, my mistake. Edit->Find->Search messages is the "advanced search"
(at least that's what it was called in mozilla mail IIRC). I just
couldn't find it.
